    Tax Refunds

Hello folks, I have another question for you wonderful people.
I know states all have different exemptions and I would like to know if tax refunds are exempt in Pennsylvania or New Jersey or Maryland.
    Thanks for your help.

This would be a question for a lawyer. I don't think PA or NJ have any sort of wildcard exemption, MD has a property exemption of up to 5500 dollars but I'm not sure if it could be applied to a tax return. You'd want to ask a lawyer.

Do a google search on "Bankruptcy exemptions Pennsylvania", etc. and you will come up with several sites showing them, maybe even one from your state court system. If it's just sites, be aware that they are sometimes behind in updating, so for example in California the homestead exemption was stated on some sites as much lower than it actually is.

Here in NJ there is no wildcard, but you can use federal exemptions if really needed. As far as tax returns go, they can and do take them in some districts. I have no idea about PA though. Its a chance you take. Talk to a lawyer, they know your district and judges. NJ exemptions are, well...crap for a lack of better word. Just like most things in this state it likes to suck you dry.
