    Using PACER for research?

I'm wondering if PACER would be usefull in looking at prior cases filed. Could someone with a PACER account look at other peoples filings and see what they had for balances, transfers, cash advances, etc. Or, to see how many objections were filed. If this is possible it may be a good guage in determining the trends in a certain geographical area or court.

I have found it beyond helpful, but this is because I am filing pro se. It is good to look at a few, but it gets expensive, so if you have a lawyer, he or she should be able to do your paperwork correctly. You can save the things you look at to your computer, so you can go back.

Don't waste your time, there is actually very little you can learn from PACER, in any meaningful way regarding what you are concerned about.

I agree with this. Although I have to admit that I "looked up" a few people that I thought might have filed in the past. Curiosity, nothing more. But I never used Pacer to actually "research."
