    Last Day for Objections

Ok, just so I am clear on this:

Last day of objections comes and goes (mine was 10/9/07, yesterday).

Since there were no objections and nothing is pending in my case per PACER, what kinds of things can be holding up the discharge order?

Like everyone else, I want to see it in black and white that I am discharged.......

How long should I wait until I call the court?

Has the BK Trustee filed their report of no distribution and request to be relieved from the case?

In any event, at this point, the issue is merely administrative. For whatever reason, discharges are taking anywhere from 2-10 days to process from the date of the last day for objections.

Every Court is different with different procedures.

Some post Discharge the next day after the last day for Objections passes. Our Court has a 1 week waiting period. A week after the last day for Objections, at midnight, the Court computer kicked on and auto generated our Discharge.

You can call the Clerk of the Court's office and nicely ask what their procedure is. They'll tell you.

I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.

HHM - Mine is an asset case, so won't be closing for a few months. I just remitted the check for the amount that was not covered by exemptions (I think this helped with the US Trustee), so hopefully they will set the bar date for the proof of creditor claims by end of October. As you know, they get 90 days to submit their proof of claim, which brings us to end of January.

I am guessing March/April or even May to close.

But my attorney said none of that matters for the discharge, and my status for the last 50 days in PACER has been "Awaiting Discharge". The Last Day for Objections was yesterday, so hopefully it is not more than 10 days to wait, per Sinking Fast's post above.

        Thanks.
