? about time line

We are turning in our truck which we have a secured loan on with Bank One.My question is when does that usually happen... before the 341 or after or does it just vary? Our attorney is filing our paper work on Wednesday of this week and he advised us to get in touch with the bank and let them know that we can not afford the truck pmt anymore and that we wish to turn it in.Is that generally how it goes?? I thought we wouldn't have to turn it in until the 341? Any advice would be appreciated

I dont know what protocol is but we decided to reaffirm our car and the Credit Union where we are financing it didnt even contact us to see what we were going to do until the 341 and then they had us sign the reaffirmation. I wouldn't think waiting until the 341 would be a big deal but maybe the moderator or someone who knows could better answer your question.

I know how the reaffirming goes because I am doing that with my car... My husbands truck is the question.. see we owe 2 1/2 more years on it and thats 15,900 It's current value is at 8,000 The truck is junk, so thats why we decided to turn it in or surrender it....

We have 2 vehicles that we are turning in. I sent the letter that our lawyer got from them, giving them permission to call us and get the pickup arranged. I have called them daily for 2 weeks and we have yet to hear anything.

We had our 341 on 5/11.

My credit union harassed the HECK out of me when I decided to surrender my car. I told them if they wanted it back then THEY could come and get it; I wasn't going to make it easy on them.

After four weeks of threats and harassment, they finally came and picked the thing up.

They also stole my license plate....
