Calling creditors and giving them my case number

Hello folks, thanks for all of your help. Is it advisable for me to CALL my creditors and give them the CASE # over the phone?
I have been having good success and it seems to give them what they need.
Has anyone ever done this? I started calling the ones that have called me recently. I called them back and gave them the case # and they updated the account and they seemed satisified. It appears that have a web site that they all subscribe to that enables them to verify who indeed filed for bankruptcy. Thanks for your help.

It's not really necessary to go out of your way to call...I suppose if you have the time...but for most people, the calls will stop within a week of filing (because by then the creditors would have received notice of the BK), or, simply wait until the next time they call you.

You are not going to win any brownie points by calling your creditors.

Hello folks, thanks for all of your help. I was asking this because I filed about 22 days ago and creditors still do not know about my filing of bankruptcty 7. Some do because I think they looked it up on the bankruptcy database that they subscribe to but most do not know of it. I had to give my case # to several creditors who have still been calling me. Thanks for your great help.

Do you have a lawyer? If so, just give them your lawyers number and tell them to call him/her. If you're pro-se just tell them you filed and here's the number. The calls WILL stop.
