    No Objections but need advice

Okay, I had no objections but still waiting on discharge. I decided I am going to try my hand in being a Travel agent. I will need to open up a business checking account and get my business started.

At this point where I am at in Bankruptcy is it best to wait until I get the offical discharge papers or is it okay to go ahead and open up my Travel business??? It is going to be a while before I start to generate income. The clerk at the BK office told me everything at this point is simply administrative but I want to make sure, I did not tell her of my plans.

I decided to go into the travel business because I just can't take the expense and stress of the Mortgage business at this time, so I must likely will not be returning to that. My doctor finally sees some healing in my bones so I want to remain stressfree so I can heal.

    Thanks you guys for advice.

There is no downside to going down to the bank and trying.

For a business acct. like that, you would want to focus on local banks...they tend to have more cost effective business packages and tend not to check credit reports as part of the application process.

Worst case scenario, they tell you to come back when you received your discharge, and you are in the same position you are in now.

off the subject of your question but......

Have you thought about working at a travel agency first to see if you like it, before spending money on your own business?

Not trying to rain on your parade but I did what you want to do and first, I thought I'd love it but I didn't, second - it cost me money which contributed to the situation I'm in now, and third, I could not stand these people calling thinking they could get a cruise for $100. It was a pain in my a$$. Also, it a volume business and it's an extremely competative business so advertising is sky high.

Mine was a franchise internet business so even though I didn't have to worry about rent, it still cost me money.

PM or email me if you want to know more.

And if it's really what you want to do, I wish you the best of luck.

If you have unlimited long distance on a land line phone, there's alternatives for you to work from home as a telemarketer. You may even be lucky enough to live where a call center is a local phone call.

Alpine Access is one of the faves on this website. You're paid as a regular employee vs being a contractor. As a regular employee, the company takes care of all the taxes and such. If you're a contractor, you have to do that yourself.

Most of the jobs are taking phone orders for products being sold by the client companies.

Pretty much, from what I've read, the only start-up cost is getting a sound dampening head-set.

Thanks so much you guys, we just need the extra income so we will never be in this position again. LOL

DanaJ, I signed up with a host agency, I still have all the things I need for a home office because of the Mortgage business including unlimited long distance. Right now anything is better then being in the Mortgage business, the stress was too much for my young body to take and with all the forclosures and home values dropping every month, it is best for me leave that market alone for a long while. Right now, the only job I can do must be home based, it is not easy for me to get around just yet.

Gosh, I thought all the worrying would be over once I got to this point in BK with having no objections LOL.

Sinking fast, I will look into those home-based customer service jobs, my mom also emailed me a list, heck even American Airlines is hiring home based agents in my area
