Apply for car loan before discharged vs after discharged

How "bad" is it to apply for car loan (as shopping around.....i know all inquiries within 14 days of each other are considered 1 inquiry) before you are discharged.

Then if denied because you are not "discharged", you apply again after you are discharged. Does it make a difference that they already "declined" you?

This I guess really applies to only "online" loan approvals (Capital One, etc). I hope this makes sense.

    Any advice???

I'd wait until after discharge, because they technically can't approve you until your case is discharged anyway.

I can only answer your question as what would I do in this situation, and that is:
      1. get credit report cleaned up.
      2. rebuild credit using securied credit cards for six months at least.
Then when my saving are at least 1/3 of purchase price of car then I would start shopping.
This way you own the car and it does not own you.
      regards,
