I am glad they didn't ask me the one about over $5k in the last year! Even though it was all legit, and shouldn't have presented any problem, it's always easier if you can just truthfully answer the questions in a way that don't bring on further questions or investigations! So we were spared that one!

Nope, he specifically asked if anybody had 5,000 or more at any given time in a checking, savings or money market account.
