    AMEX question

I filed Chapter 7 on May 27th and today I received a monthly bill from one of my two American Express cc accounts. I know the court has notified my creditors because I received a copy of what I presume they get, plus the phone calls stopped. Is AMEX just slow or should I call them and explain that I've had to file BK? This particular account was opened with a smallish ($1000) transferred balance around last November, when I honestly had no idea I'd have to file BK this year; at the time I was just trying to keep my head above the financial water by getting some 0% transfer balance deals going.

Also, guess I should ask if anyone has ever had AMEX show up at the creditors meeting...should I be worried... Anyone?

If you listed AMEX as one of your creditors on the BK listing, then they will receive the Notice. Considering you filed 5/27 and it is only 6/13, plus factor in Memorial Day ... no postal service and AMEX probably closed ... they are probably slow to process your BK notice. If it will give you peace, send AMEX a copy of yours via Certified mail.

I had two AMEX accounts listed in BK with total balance of approx $29,000. They did not show up to our 341 meeting. However, I'm not certain of the timeframe you need to distance between the transfer of another card's balance and when you filed.
