    CA. BK7 Filers Question

Has anyone here filed pro se in CA for BK7?

What all forms are required? I went to the link about forms there were other froms/amendments that weren't obvious as to whether or not they are required to file BK7

I may be filing Pro se but want to be sure to file correctly.

Any Help from CA. would be greatly appreciated

Rintaro, the author of the Nolo Press book on Ch7 (see the sticky for more info on the book) lives and practices bk law in Ca, so there's lots of good info in there especially for Californians. I would start there, and then go to the website of whatever court I was going to be filing at to obtain the local forms. There are many people who go pro se in pretty much every state; how successful you are depends on how well you prepare and educate yourself, and on knowing when your case is too complex for self-representation. But you can't just get the forms and start filling them out; that's suicide. Get the book first. Good luck!
Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!

I filed pro se in CA last Nov.

Like Freshlikeadaisy said, get a Nolo Press book on Ch7; the book will guide you - where to get a form and how to file the form.

      Anyways, I downloaded form from

      Click petition and form
Under Chapter 7 (only) additional form

      Petition Package (complete)

this .pdf file includes every form that you need to file chapter 7.

Did any of your creditors object? I have no real assets and aprox 20-30K in debt. ( CC) How many forms did you file from the package? What was your total Cost?

Any info you could provide , Thank You.

Final date for objection for my case is 02/11/08 and if nobody object, I will get discharged.

I am in the 60 day club, about 40 days remaining and no creditors object yet and hope they keep silence.....

My case was pretty simple, no asset, no income, just a humongous credit card debt.
I probably used 2/3 of the forms from the package...

              Total Cost

              Pre file Credit Counseling $36
              Petition $299
              Credit education before discharge $15

Grand total $350 + incidental Cost

Just get a Nolo Book and it will answer most of your questions and some of basic technical questions.

You can also check your local library.

              Good luck.
