    Discharged date extended

We were supposed to be discharged this month on the 13th. I went to pacer and seen where the trustee had moved our discharge to August 13th. It read " Motion to extend objection to discharge date". What does that mean exactly? I'm nervous all over again now. No creditors have responded all this time why are they extending it? Please help need answers.

Are you able to download the actual document, the Motion should explain why the discharge was extended, and they should serve you with the Motion.

It says that " The trustee requires additional time to further investigate the assets of the estate". "The Trustee would ask for an additional sixty days to file a complaint objecting to the debtor's discharge should the debtor fail to cooperate". The only thing we have left is our house. What does this mean? I am clueless when it comes to things like this. :o

What it really means is the Trustee is lazy and behind in his case load. You could always oppose the motion if you wanted.

            CALM YOURSELF DOWN -
Lawyers/Courts/and Pacer are so busy right now with everybody trying to file before the new laws that they are behind in their posting.
I'm sure everything will be okay, or you would have heard something by now from your lawyer.
Usually pacer listings are right away, bu sometimes it takes a few day for it to show up.
I'd say they are "very busy" with Chapter 7's right now - probably "overwhelmed" with them.
Patience, my friend, it will be over soon, hopefully for you.

I was discharged in April and went to pacer.com to find my discharge.(doc was there in 3 days from date of discharge). To date i have still not recieved anything in the mail.

All i can say is thank you board members for telling me about pacer.

And for all the big scares out there I had a few too and in the end it all was for not. Just exercize for my heart. You know that fast beat when I was freaking out. So stop freaking out and know 99% of you will be fine.

Your almost to home base now!!
But be sure to get a copy of your discharge - from your attorney or print a copy from online at pacer.
Remember - Trustee can re-open your case up to a year after discharge if he decides that something is "not right" or has "just cause" - (like you win the lottery or inherit a bundle), so just be cautious for the next year.
Spend the next year working on building your credit back up!!

                  Good Luck to Ya

Does PACER list the creditors included in your BK? I need a copy of my creditor list, but I don't want to register for PACER if I don't need to.

Your creditor list is what you put on your petition schedules.
