financial management course twice?

Hello everyone--we converted our case from a 13 to a 7 back in December. We had gotten both of our classes-credit counseling and financial management courses done right away and both were filed with the court during the beginning of our 13 in 2006.

My question is......do we have to do these classes twice...once during the 13 and now again in our 7..... after converting?

The reason I ask is on Pacer...it states that we have not done the financial management course--posted today.... even though you can scroll down the page and see that it was entered into the court way back during our 13.

We are two weeks away from discharge..and I need to get this cleared up!! Any help is appreciated!

I honestly don't know the answer to that one.

I guess a strict reading of the law would say that you would have to do the course again since you took your course more than 6 months ago.

Do you have an attorney and have you asked him.

I suppose you could try calling the BK court clerks office and ask...but they may not be very helpful in answering that question since it borders on legal advice.

Probably just another ploy to line these credit couselors' pockets even further, for a while. Once a Democrat becomes President some of the provisions, like this one, of the 2005/Bushleague provisions of the bankruptcy laws will die.

For the little amount you'll pay to knock out the courses I'd just go ahead and get them done. Why risk your discharge over something so trivial? You have a dollar waiting on a dime, just do them and avoid any complications.

Update...

Called today...and they mistakenly did not see that we had already taken this OVER TWO YEARS AGO!! They said not to worry about it, and that it would be taken off our case. We are all set.

So...to answer my own question...no, you do not have to take the course twice when you are in a conversion. YEAH!!
