    Yeah we are discharged

I just checked on Pacer and it says order discharge today June 29. Sooooo happy now. Our last day for objections was Monday June 27. So only 2 days. Next question is now can we go on with our lives and not worry about this anymore? I know they can reopen the case up to a year but is that a year from the date we filed or the date we are discharged????

Yes, congrats!!!!! It's a great feeling, isn't it???

I'm in the same boat with you. My plan is to pull my credit reports in a month or so and start the clean-up process. Hopefully, the credit scores will start to rise. They dropped SO fast when things went bad. Right before filing they dropped to under 500 - after discharge (only a week or so) and many things not reflecting "included in BK" my credit score is still only 506. I'm beginning to think that the climb up hill will be slow. It's ok though ... I'll keep paying myself and build up a savings account (haven't had one of those in a LONG time). I'm sure things will get better over time. I'd rather have bad credit and peace of mind instead of how things were a few months ago.

I too want to build up a savings. We havent had a savings in like 15 years. It is a great feeling being discharged. Our case went pretty smoothly and we were afraid it wasnt going to because we were discharging over $116,000. YEP I know its a huge amount. Now we can start rebuilding our credit, though I have to say Im really not that interested in getting any credit anytime soon. We will need a new vechicle in about a year but our credit score should be up a little by then. By the way where can I go to get my credit score and report?

I just checked my credit score and it is 514. Will that go up as I am discharged now? How long does it take for the credit report to show closed balances after discharge?

We just got a bombshell in the mail today. Our discharge date was yesterday. We received a letter from the Dept of Justice asking for motion to extend the time to dismiss. The U.S. Trustee says we submitted documents but other information has not been produced. I have no clue what they are talking about and of course it is Saturday, Monday is a holiday and we cant reach our attorney. It says the time to move to dismiss or object to discharge will expire on July 1, 2005 unless extended upon this motion. I am a wreck. We submitted all the information we had that was requested by the U.S. Attorney. Nothing was even said until now. Is there anything we can do other than wait until Tuesday?
