New to this... qualification question

I talked to a lawyer this morning and have an appointment scheduled next week. I am in the process of gathering our paystubs from the past 6 months. If we fall below the median income, would we qualify or do we still go through the means test?

This is all brand new to me and I'm trying to gather as much info as I can but it's rather overwhelming .

Regardless where your income falls {above/below the median} you'll need to fill out schedules I and J to find your monthly disposable income.
