amending List of creditors. step by step process PLS.

    Hi,

i need help on how to amend my list of creditors. i received a dentist's bill after i filed and the doc was not included in my list of creditors.

can anyone help me what to do? is there a specific form for this?

    thanks a lot, E

I assume you are pro se, correct.

Basically, all you have to do is

    1. Download, or get from the BK court clerk, a copy of the BK amendment cover sheet
    2. Simply redo your schedule of creditors and creditor matrix. (redo them in full)
    3. File those forms (with the cover sheet) at the BK court clerks office and pay a $26 fee (since you are amending the list of creditors, a fee is charged)

Was this bill for a visit that occurred before or after you filed.
    How much was the bill.
How well do you like this dentist. (if you include him in your BK, they will probably refuse to see you in the future)

Do you really want to include that debt in your BK.

Granted, if you can't pay it, you can't pay it. But at the same time, this person is your dentist, do you really want to stiff them. It is not like this is some faceless mega bank with billions in assets to which you are a meaningless number. Nor did this person loan you money, he provided a valuable service to you. I have over 5000 posts on this forum, and I am the first to recommend a person file BK, but I don't like to see people get stiffed for providing a service.

If all your doing is adding this dentist to your BK because you think you need to list all creditors, but otherwise can afford to pay him, I would say just pay him or workout a payment plan with the dentist. The amount is too incidental for the trustee or US trustee to care.

(but by the same token, most dentists, Doctors, hospitals, have loss insurance to cover these types of claims.)
