    Median income for Self-employed

Hopefully this one of my last few questions.

What is considered median income for self-employed people? Is it all the money you received or is it the final profit/net income after taking out all the expenses?

I am above the median income number for my state if I go by total deposits but well below after I take out my business expenses. So how does this work? Thanks

Assuming you are a sole proprietor, the medium income calculation is based off of GROSS income, not NET.

If you are self-employed, you REALLY need to hire an attorney for your BK, there are simply too many pitfalls and issues that arise in a BK when the debtor is self-employed.

I can only say in my experience, I am self-employed, it was based off my income from my P/L statement. However, I do agree with HHM, it does depend on each individual situation (I am also in FL).
