I AGREE, BETWEEN MY ATTORNEY AND THIS WEBSITE, ALL MY QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED. MY ATTORNEY IS SHEREE CAMERON IN NC. SHE AND HER HUSBAND ARE GREAT. THEIR WEBSITE GIVES YOU ALL THE INFORMATION THAT YOU COULD WANT. LOOKING AT THE LINKS, EMAILING MORE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS, ALONG WITH A FEW PHONE CALLS WERE ALL WE NEEDED. DIDN'T REALIZE HOW INCOMPETENT SOME ATTORNEYS WERE (OR AT LEAST ILL PREPARED) OUR ATTORNEY DIDN'T HAVE TO LOOK UP ANYTHING, SHE KNEW THE ANSWERS AND ANTICIPATED QUESTIONS. THERE WAS A FAIR AMOUNT OF PAPERWORK TO DO UP FRONT, WE HAD TO PROVIDE PROOF OF THE VALUE OF OUR HOME, VEHICLES, ETC. SHE GAVE US THE PLACES TO GET THE INFORMATION FROM, FOR LITTLE TO NO OUT OF POCKET COST TO US. GETTING ALL THE INFO TOGETHER WAS A LITTLE TIME CONSUMING AND AT TIMES FRUSTRATING, BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH IT IN THE END. SOME ATTORNEYS WE SAW, I GUESS ASKED PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY THOUGHT THEIR PROPERTY WAS WORTH. NOT COUNTING THE FEW THAT WERE THEIR OWN WORST ATTORNEY.
WE GOT TO THE 341 MEETING BEFORE IT STARTED EVEN THOUGH OUR "APPOINTMENT" WAS FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS LATER. THE MEETING WAS AN EXPERIENCE, FROM THE WAY SOME PEOPLE DRESSED, TO THE LACK OF PREPAREDNESS OF CLIENTS AND THEIR ATTORNEYS. I CAN TRULY SAY THAT THERE WAS NOT ANOTHER ATTORNEY THERE I WOULD HAVE CHOSEN OVER HER. WE WATCHED SEVERAL CASES THAT HAD TO PROVIDE VARYING DEGREES OF INFORMATION, THAT SHEREE ALREADY HAD ON HAND FOR US. THERE WAS ALSO A COUPLE TIMES THAT THE TRUSTEE COULDN'T EVEN INDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON, A COUPLE HAD TO SURRENDER ASSETS THAT IN MY OPINION MIGHT NOT HAVE HAD TO BE SURRENDERED. (STOCKS FROM COMPANY WHERE SHE WAS RETIRED FROM) THE TRUSTEE ASKED IN A COUPLE DIFFERENT WAYS IF IT WAS RELATED TO RETIREMENT. THERE WAS A FAIR AMOUNT OF INFO WE WERE NOT ASKED FOR, DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS BECAUSE IN WAS IN THE PETTITION ALREADY OR WHAT. I AM JUST GLAD OUR ATTORNEY KNEW WHAT WE NEEDED AND THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE TO HAVE IT CONTINUED. ALSO WE HAD ANTICIPATED HAVING TO FILE CHAPTER 13, BUT BECAUSE OF HER THOROUGH QUESTIONS AND OUR SITUATION, SHE FILED CHAPTER 7. WE ARE JUST WAITING FOR THE FIRST OF SEPTEMBER, TO BE ABLE START OVER.

Another thanks to the contributors and moderators on this forum. I just received my discharge in the mail today. My Chapter 7 341 meeting was May 6th. At this time the trustee advised any attorneys present that he would be emailing information regarding the new BK laws. My paralegal was preparing to attend classes for the new laws when I signed the forms. She said that she would have to increase her fees in future cases because of the changes. I paid $200 for paperwork and $209 to file. My case was discharged on July 7th and the information was on pacer the next day. I took a lot of records to the 341 meeting but was not asked for any of them. The only question the trustee had was regarding my annuity account which has dwindled down to almost nothing. Again, I am so glad that I found this forum. It helped me get through this trying time.
