    The IRS WITHHOLDING CALCULATOR

... is up and running again.

    Here's the link:
Explore options for getting your federal tax refund, how to check your refund status, how to adjust next year’s refund and how to resolve refund problems.

This is for those who want to adjust their withholding to get more dollars in their pocket AFTER the 341 or perhaps get less dollars in their pocket before filing...

You can adjust it up or down.

This calculator helps you put it back to the right place in order to owe nothing or little (or get back nothing or little) on your 08 tax return.

It was not working for a few months but now it's back in working order again.

By the way, those who have said that it is "illegal" to adjust your withholding up or down, at will, are apparently wrong. Why else would the IRS have this calculator on their own site? Also, I have done it several times in the past. I adjusted my withholding to increase the number of dependents, thus getting more money after our 341, and now after discharge I am adjusting it back down so that I will not end up owing at the end of the year.

Thanks Pa! This is very helpful. Too bad I didn't know about it last year, maybe I wouldn't owe taxes this year!

Congrats again on your discharge and thanks so much for all your posts. They provided much comfort and info whenever I read them.

Take care and stay in touch!

Glad to see it is finally up. I told so many about it and then it wasn't working. LOL

        Thanks for the kind words.
Yes, this calculator should be used by everyone so that they neither owe nor get too much back in the next tax year. Better to put any extra money in an account that gets interest instead of letting the government use it and pay no interest!
