Question about Chapter 7

A friend of my told me that I can't file chapter 7 unless I own property and a vehicle. Is this true?

In response to your question: of course not!!! Quite the contrary, the less you have, the better you are suited for BK 7, assuming that your debts are unsecured or mainly unsecured. As a matter of fact, I am on the verge of doing this myself, and I don't own neither a property nor a car. And, it was actually one lawyer who told me, "the less, the better".
