    Claiming Exemptions after moving

I moved a year ago to take a new job in another state. According to what I have ready, I need to declare my exemptions based on the state I had moved from, since I lived there for 10 years. That state (PA) allows for either state exemption or federal exemption. Does this mean that since I have to use PA exemptions that I can use the federal exemptions? (I now reside in IL, which does not allow federal exemptions.)

Thansk for anybody's insight and experiences in helping to understand this.

Yes if PA allows federal you could use federal, though generally many states are better than federal. I'd ask your lawyer which he thought was better for your case.
