    Had 341 meeting yesterday...

I have been using this site for months now and it has given me the knowlege and courage to go through with CH. 7 . Well anyway we had the 341 yesterday and the trustee was very nice and pleasent but she threw a curve ball at my wife and I. Our attorney told us that we would only have to pay back some of the equity in our one car that we own outright. He estimated that we would only have to pay 2400.00 over ten months to keep it.Which we did since the car is in great condition and low miles. But the trustee hit us up for 4500.00. The 2400.00 for my cougar and about 2100.00 in our mountaineer that we are still paying on. I thought because we still had a lein on it that it was exempt. Now my wife and I have a 450.00 a month payment for ten months! We are in a crappy ARM and it will be difficult to make it on time without losing the house. Our lawyer recomended that we do not reaffirm the house do to the ARM going up every six months.Anyone else have this experience? Thanks to all for the great advice over the past months.

That sucks. Sorry to hear that. I don't have any advice as far as the bankruptcy goes but maybe you or your wife can get a part-time job for the 10 months to cover the $450? hey I get part-time jobs all the time in addition to my full time job and I'm a full-time college student not to mention I volunteer with 3 differnet organizations. It can be done. Just know that it can always be worst. Be grateful for what you do have, stay positive and do what you need to do to make those payments. No sense of losing your house over $450 a month, businesses are always hiring. Good Luck

I am hoping we can buy back some of our non exempts too and the plan is to get a second job asap to make it happen. Good luck to you I hope you work it out.
