    Which is safer?

I have all my documents together and am ready to get the ball rolling on filing.

I just talked to the paralegal and she said I can drop off the documents or mail them. Do you think mailing them with sign receipt/certified is safe or would you drop them off? The office is 30-35 minutes(w/out traffic) from my house.

Given the cost of gas, I would mail them certified (but make copies first, just in case)

They only wanted copies of everything on their list. I have the originals.
I am hoping it won't take long from them receiving the documents to filing the petition.

Cali we sent our USPS Priority mail, this has a free delivery confirmation number if you make the label online using their site. This way I could make sure it was delivered. Ours went about 40 miles away and they actually got it the next day. It worked great for us. We just used a large yellow envelope.

Congrats on getting it all done, it's a relief huh? Now hopefully your paralegal can get it done quickly. Ours took about a month. We waited on her, now she's waiting on us to be ready. We just have to call and set up our appt to go over the papers and make sure everything looks good which will be just as soon as we have spent the stimulus check. Hopefully within the next couple weeks.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest making a copy of that bunch of paperwork you filled out as well. I think that may be what laurannm was referring to.

Mine took a week for the paralegal to input my info, and then another 2 weeks for the next available review appointment. I'm sure it's different everywhere.

I haven't filled out any paperwork. The attorney's paralegal is doing everything, I just have to give the documents to start the petition. And then I will go make sure everything is correct and go from there.
