Hey, I'm thinking of going thru ch.7 in the next few months. I just had a question, about my situation. And that is I have this amex card for 2 years, pying it regularly but in the last 3 months i have maxed it out suddenly. Now i haven't been able to pay the minimum on it the last 2 months, but I have gathered enough money to pay them off. My concern :- is it even worth paying the last 2 months since i'll be going thru ch.7 in nov/dec of this year, but on the other hand i wanna pay since it was maxed out only 3 months back. I have had this card for 2 years and have always been current on it. What are the repurcussion. Your help is much appreciated.

I agree with Jerzey, if for a fact you file, then those payments you made will not matter on your credit report, you don't get to chose which debts are discharged they all are (except for obviously student loans, and other things that are non-dischargeable)
So if you are going to file even if you pay the last 2 months or whatever you are thinking of doing, at the end of the bankruptcy your credit report will show "Discharged under bankruptcy" So why not save the money for a good lawyer to help you file, or pay something down that is a secured debt like a car or something so that you might be able to keep it after bankruptcy.
