Can you change attorneys when you convert to a Ch. 7?

    Hi,
I'm asking this question for my friend.

My friend got pushed into a 13 and is now paying $500/month to the Trustee while he's sleeping on his sister's couch for a year. (Part of the problem was he did not have a rent payment in the equation!)

Soooo, I advised my friend to consider switching to a different attorney and working out a plan to convert to a Ch. 7 in a few months. (I have reason to believe his attorney botched the whole thing and COULD have actually advised him in such a way as to qualify for a 7.)

But he asked me "Can I do switch attorneys?" and I said, "Well, I don't know for sure, so I'll ask".

Can he switch attorneys now that he's in the beginning of a 13, to plan a conversion to a 7?

Yes, he can fire his existing attorney and hire a different attorney at any time.
