Hi, I've been reading all the great advice on this forum for some time and got my own questions. I hope to be able to give advice once i'm discharged
Now, I've never filed before and had never been asked to do a listing of assets in my life !
At the time of the signing, I did not know what to expect because my attorney did not give me any information to prepare and when I gave him estimated values of my stuff, I was off by about a few hundred dollars and a couple of weeks later realized my mistake and went to his office and his paralegal wrote down the changes.
Now the trustee wants a list of all the stuff ( the attorney just asked me for ballpark figures during the signing ) and in doing it I found out I had overvalued the furniture by nearly a thousand bucks. I even noticed I had given them the wrong mileage for my car ! My old Chevy had four thousand miles than what I recalled at the signing. So I went by on Friday and gave the paralegal all the new information and stuff.
But I'm concerned , the attorney is not changing the original papers I signed and simply adding the revised information through additional sheets.
All the changes may make it look like i'm being dishonest to the trustee if he tells her "he signed that his bed was worth five hundred bucks and two weeks later he said it was only two hundred."
I'm being honest with my attorney but each time I've informed them of a change I get this look which irritates me.
I just found a couple of tennis rackets in the closet I forgot to list and value. Heck, I also found an old lamp I forgot existed. Does that mean the trustee is going to show up at my house and take them ?
I used to live with my mom. Is the trustee going to go to her house too unannounced to see if im hiding a transformers collection in a closet somewhere ? i'm not, but i have my old clothes and some of my old stuff I left there when I moved out of there a year ago.
Can the trustee go to my moms house to see if I have any stuff there ?
I'm not hiding anything. Everything is just really frustrating . The attorney doesn't help much. My questions may seem paranoid but they really concern me .
