About that 90 day no charging period....

Anyone have charges at 60 or even 30 days that went overlooked. I'd love to not have to wait the full 90 days. The only big thing we have is a 1475.00 car repair charge. We do have several smaller gas and grocery things as well. I would like to wait only 60 days. Anyone else wait only 60 days??

We charged about 30 days before we filed...mainly our utility bills/phone bill. We also charged $700 worth of tires 2 weeks before we filed, after we met with our attorney....not one creditor said anything about it.

    Good luck!

That's what my atty is saying. Rarely does anyone say anything unless its like a vacation to Barbados 30 days before you file. I was tempted to ask what if I go to Barbados and wait 90 days to file? I sooo want a fun vacation!! I'll give it 30 days since we really don't have anything luxury related since Christmas, and even then it was kids Christmas stuff, no lavish vacations.

If the things charged were for necessities I don't see anything wrong with that.

We stopped using CC's in early January.

I am paying my filing fee today, so hopefully everything goes right.

And Barbados is beautiful, you would love it there.

We had numerous charges up until a month before we filed (up to our first meeting with our lawyer). a few days left... not a word thus far from our CCs. Not saying we are the norm either. Most items were necessaties.

Good to know. Thank-you. I think we should be good after 30 days, well atually only 24 now since the car repair. I guess if we did have to pay that back it wouldn't be the end of the world.

on the 70 and 90 day look backs they are primarily looking for luxury items. Car maintenance is not a luxury. However it is a large charge so you might want to wait the full 90 days, best to ask a lawyer in your area and see what they say .

We have the receipt so we can show it was just vahicle maintnance. Worst case scenerio the atty says they may ask for that amount or even less like 1K to make them go away. He says usually they do not ask unless it is an obvious abusive luxury. It isn't worth it to me to wait 3 months, I'd rather pay the 1475 and just be done already. Of course after paying the atty I don't have that, and I can't charge it to another card...What's a girl to do? I'd probably have to borrow from our 401K which is like sinning for me. It gets this show on the road though. Everything now and then sinning is OK... Looks like we can file towards the end of next week, after paralegal gets everything ready.
