Hey everyone,

I can't believe I forgot this but it just occurred to me last night as I was talking to my dad. I am filing chap 7 pro se since I can't really afford a lawyer, just trying to keep my head afloat above living expenses. My dad used to live with me until April this year. His car was insured at my address under my name. He asked me permission and I had said it was OK with me. The car is still under my name now for insurance purposes. My name is not on the title. Is this a problem for him or me ? I don't have my lixense yet, just my permit so I know nothing about cars at all.

Insurance and registration in my name, car worth $6800 and title in my dad's name.

if its registered in your name you should list it. The reason is if they were to search dmv records and found it , then it looks like you were hiding something from them (not good) So I would list the auto in your BK and explain the situation. I was in a similar situauion when I filed I sold my car 15 months year previous to my sister for 2500.00 which was outside of one year. Except the title hadnt been transfered until june of this year. So I had to explain that in my BK . The trustee didn't even mention it in the 341. Are you sure that you cant somehow get an attorney? It's situations like this that attorneys are very helpful. They will know how to list things like this and what the trustee's in your particular area will be looking for.
