    credit scores before discharge?

I am about 3 weeks from discharge and about 2 weeks about I pulled my credit scores and they were horrible: 590,576,560. So I thought I would wait until after discharge to see if it had changed. Well, my husband got curious about his and he ran his last night, his is 680 to 726!! What is up with that? I looked at his report and compared it to mine and everything is exactly the same...how is this possible. Should I check mine again? Could mine have gone up a lot since 2-3 weeks ago? I am complete perplexed and pissed that mine would be so low and his could be so much higher...what do you think gives? Any opinions please!

if your is 500's and his is 600-700's not everything is the same no one manual figures scores any more, they are programs with codes that shoot out the scores, everyone is subject to these programs

got to look at the whole report dates, balance number of accounts... and the report should both be from the same company on the same date

Also I have seen people getting one number wrong on the SS# and it pulling someone elses report but still show the name you entered

okay, the SS's are right, the number of accounts are the same but I did mine on 5/25 and he did his on 6/8. Maybe that is where the difference is?

        Are you pulling from MyFico?

Is his credit history longer than yours?

Do you have all the same accounts, or does he have more or you have more?

I'm going with Cali on this. Your husbands history could be longer. Also, what you did before you filed BK has an affect. If your credit history was really good, then it's possible to have good scores after your discharge. If it's bad before you filed BK, then it's likely your scores will be lower. I'm talking about are the older accounts that were not included in your BK. If you had lates and collections, that shows a not so good credit history, and this can be what lenders look at when you apply for a loan or credit and it could hurt you.

My wife's scores are much lower than mine because she's had a late or two (her own seperate accounts) and one collections from 2003 and 2004.......so......this is probably hurting her scores.

            Tallberry,
You didn't say whether you filed BK together, separately, or just you filed.
If only you filed, then his credit scores will be affected very little if any.
If you filed together than basically his shouldn't be much different than your right now.

If you have a lot of separate/different accounts this will also make a difference in how your credit reports look.

yes, we filed together and we both had excellent credit prior to BK (750). I actually purchased a leased vehicle last August without a job, simply on my credit score. The accounts on our credit reports are identical, I just happened to have pulled mine on MYFICO in May and he just did yesterday. I could pull mine again to see if it went up from the first time but I hate to pay $40 again...I'd rather wait until our discharge on 6/29. I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience...and if it is possible mine could jump up that much from 3 weeks ago. I know that some of the accounts have rolled over to zero balance since I checked it...could this be a reason?
