Local Trustee experience isn't so bad after all even with assets

I'm still waiting for July 7th (discharge date) and even though I have assets, I've found my local trustee to be very "human". She called me today to give me the information to call a local furniture dealer so that I could allow him a chance to look at the equipment I have in storage. From talking to him and after a little small talk about high gas prices, he gave me the impression that the trustee wants him to come over and look at the equipment to see if it's even worth collecting it to sell at auction and to determine the approximate value.

I explained to him it might not be worth his time since there is a lot of small equipment and misc. stuff, but I understand he has to look at it and make his own determination. I hope my side commentary while he looks at the equipment will help sway him to report a no asset determination to the trustee.

Overall it hasn't been the worst experience because I document every communication with my atty. and with the trustee. My atty. even returns phone calls and emails in a very timely manner. He returned a call to me last week from home within 15 minutes of sending an email to him.

I guess things are looking up and I'm trying to stay positive and keep busy with 2 jobs so that I don't dwell on it too much. I haven't heard from the UST at all which I'm sure is a very good thing, but I still have a little under a month to go and I'll try to stay under the radar.

I guess the next step is to pull my credit report to get an update on what my score is now so that I can start fixing it. I'm curious as to what I might find. I hope it's not all bad news, but today is a good day and I feel better about things. Good luck to everyone and thank you guys for supporting me during this tough time.

P.S. With the 2 claims so far, the amount of unsecured taxes to be discharged in my chapter 7 so far is about $37k. I still have two other intities to hear from, but if things keep going the way they are now, I might be okay.

I might need to buy a moped before too long because gas is eating me alive.

I'm glad to hear things are looking up for you

I am waiting for July 7th myself I think in the same district even and I haven't heard anything from our attorney about our assets at all !! She did say she waits for the trustee to contact her about a buy back so we have more time to get $$ but darn it's still no asset over a month after the 341?? That suprises me.

I'm still with you, southernbelle. So far, no news on my end...so hopefully, we're both good to go!

HA! You think gas is killing YOU, sister??!?!?...I drive an Escalade. I put in $20 and I make it to the curb and back! As my trustee said..."it's become a lawn ornament".

My trustee made the comment to me "It's tough for all of us right now", which I though was interesting
