    Problems with USAA

I noticed that someone else posted regarding USAA, but I wasn't sure what the outcome was. We have a problem with USAA as well. We filed on two Credit Cards that we had with USAA in our BK. They already took away our internet online access. We only have a savings and checking account (which we no longer use anymore, since we took our direct deposits to another bank), Auto insurance and homeowners insurance. USAA is now telling us that our insurance policies will not be renewed after they expire in October 2008 b/c we filed the cc's in the BK. Can anyone help with this? Are they just saying this or is it true? We are currently looking for a new insurance company unless USAA will keep us.

    Thanks.

I am wondering about USAA as well. We filed on a loan with them and I was wondering if we will be cancelled.

I filed on 2 CC's w/ USAA. I still have online access, and my insurance is good. I received my rental insurance renewal last week. And my auto's should be coming soon.

I called and I talked to their BK dept. and another person. Both of them told me that I would be fine. My insurance won't change. My access might be taken away, and if it is all I have to do is call them and they will do whatever I need done that way.

I filed in July last year and had a CC and Auto loan with USAA. My online access ended right around my discharge time. I kept the car but as gas prices rose and my new great job started to be less secure I called USAA and told them to pick up the car. I did get lost in the system and it took them 2 months to get it.

Sometime after I called about the car I received a letter saying that they do not do business with anyone who causes harm to USAA and my auto ins. would not be renewed. I called and canceled my insurance and got a refund of what was owed.

USAA's auto insurance can't be beat but there other products are not as competitive as they used to be.

        good luck,

        Logan

It sounds like we may need to find a new insurance company. I don't want to wait and find out if USAA will not renew our insurance policies and be canceled. I here it can be difficult to get a new insurance policy with a cancelation on your record. USAA just told us we may slip through the cracks, but no definite answer, which doesn't help at all. I think most companies will find that they are hurting for money and business soon b/c of the economy, it seems like everyone is broke right now.

I guess I better be watching out just in case. We aren't due to renew until August.

What is a good insurance company?

I was just told by USAA that they will not renew our policy in December because we BK'd them. UGGG...ok so I guess we will shop for new insurance before they cancel us.

Cali & I had a discussion about this a week or so ago. I too was told that our insurance policies would not be renewed. I'm going to go with that assumption and be ready to find a new insurance company in November. It seems really stupid on their part considering they are still the lienholder on my SUV!

Slightly OT, but has anyone had difficulty getting a new carrier with a BK? I've heard that your credit score can affect whether or not an insurance company will carry you. Our credit scores were in the low 700s before this so we've never had to deal with that issue.
