    Will I ever close??????????

My bankruptcy was discharged on 12/05/07, and it has not closed yet. It was an asset case, but the final report for distribution was filed the beginning of April, and still no closing. Any suggestions of what I could do, or should I just wait?

Look at my siggy and see how long I waited for our case to close. Asset cases can take up to a year, or longer, to finally close. The UST has to wait until all checks have been cashed and everything has been accounted for. Imagine the UST desk......a huge stack of cases on his/her desk. It takes time to go through all of those cases.....one-by-one and making sure every little thing is 100% accurate, so be patient. Your case, for the most part, is over and you can move on to the next chapter in your life.

Discharge is the important part for you

I wouldn't worry about, if you read the post about closing vs discharge, closing doesn't really matter. So long as you have your discharge, you are OUT of BK.

JRScott is correct. Discharge is the legality portion, whereas closing is pure administrative.
Did you call or contact the court administrator? Did you have an attorney involved? Ask him/her.
