    Bankruptcy Questionnaire - Input plz

We are filing in NV and on our bk questionnaire that we have to turn into the trustee is asks if we've sold, traded or given away anything in the last 12 months. Well, we had 2 garage sales and my husband sold a college ring on ebay for about 800 to pay rent one month...we didn't make more than about 500 total on the garage sales. Is this what they're looking for? It seems weird that they'd want to know about something so small, but I don't want to hide anything either. Thanks!

I believe they are looking for anything major. I don't believe they would be interested in your garage sales, or ring--especially since you used the money to pay rent.

In our case, we sold a mortgage note in order to pay bills, and to pay back two people who had loaned us money. This has risen up to bite us. The trustee may go after the two people we paid back. Even though we had legal respresentation, we never had very good communication with her or for that matter any REAL education on what to do or NOT do while preparing to file. We were trying for a 13, but had to go 7 because I lost my FT job. The best education we started getting in BK matters began when we found this forum.

Someone in another thread is having problems in that her father signed an extra car over to her with the understanding that if he needed it, she would give it back. Now he needs it and she is in the middle of the BK process. If she gives it back now, it will be seen as preferrential treatment to an 'insider' and the Trustee could go after it. So far as I have read the responses have been not to transfer ownership until after the BK is done.

    I hope this helps.

I think they are looking more for high end things, like jewelry, cars, homes, etc.
