    Families possessions

Do I list my kids bedroom sets, tv's, game systems, games, etc. as personal assets? My kids are 16 - 22 years old. Some of this was gifts, some was purchased by them and then, of course, my husband and I bought some of it.

For any kids under 18, yes, you list it. (It shouldn't be a big deal as general household goods are exempt).

Our attorney told us that we were filing for banklruptcy, not the children so we did not need to list their possessions.

Your "minor" kids don't really "own" the items. But in the end, I don't think it makes a difference, unless you are way overestimating the value of your household goods, all your household goods, etc, should fall under an exemption.
