Can you add something on after filing?

We filed on 6/23, our hearing is 8/1. We have direct TV and the new place we moved into, we can't use it. We still have another year and a half with them. Can we add it on?

    Thanks.

Can't you cancel it without penalty when you move into an area they don't service ????

In any case, yes, you can add it to your creditor matrix. Let your attorney know, and they should be able to do it.

I just added 4 of them, and my discharge date is Tuesday 7/15.

Seems to me that would be a good enuff reason to cancel without penalty. Let them know you're filing BK, maybe they'll loosen up on that cancellation deal. Just curious on what they tell you, because I am going to be coming up on that same situation.

Just wondering: Why does it feel like pulling teeth when you want a service cancelled??
They send you to retention department, then still another, before they figure out: I DON'T/WANT/CAN'T AFFORD THE DAMN*D THING AND AIN'T PAYING FOR IT ANY MORE???

BK2008, I will let you know. I thought about that too so that I don't have to worry about emailing my lawyer to let him know that.....but, on the other hand, they could just turn around and send it to collections anyway, they're not the best customer service/keeping their word company. We've had many problems with them when we had their service at our last residence. Thanks!

If you add this to your paperwork, according the the Ch7 book, it is a one time-fee of $26.00.

Good luck with your BK and good luck with 'Customer NO-Service'.

Good to know, thanks. Better than having to ride out a year and a half contract though that I can't use....and yeah, they have the worst customer service.....it's terrible!
