If you don't have the cash to buy groceries, gasoline etc for the week, would it look fishy if I took out another credit card? All of ours are cut up but we are broker than broke. We just don't have any money available to buy necessities even. I got a capital one offer in the mail today and I am tempted to apply on line. It would only be for necessities such as groceries and gasoline.

What do you think?

Just don't lie on the credit application.

It would be better if you used an existing credit card instead of getting a new one.

But you are allowed to use credit for necessities and doing so won't generally raise an objection.
