    Some advice please

Here is my situation. I am currently in debt approx. $22,000.00 in cc. I also ran up a cc that I am only an AU on to the tune of $12,000.00. All the cards are near max and the rates are 17% and above.

I am seriously looking into Ch7 to eliminate the $22,000.00. However there are somethings that might give me problems.

    1. I just started a civil service job that I thought would allow me to pay my bills but the expenses of the move and the new location are higher than anticipated.

I am in a 1 yr long probationary status and need this job for my future, Would filing bk potetnially cause me problems with the job?

    2. Another problem is my mother and father purchased a house several years ago. A few years ago my father passed away and my mother decided to add my name to the deed. I do not live in the house as I moved several hundred miles away for the new job and it has about $10,000.00 in equity.

Could they try to make me sell the house as it isn't my homestead?

Q - 1. Filing BK should have no bearing on your present
job status. Just don't broadcast the fact your filing.

Q - 2. If you name is on the deed to the home, the trustee can go after "your" portion of the equity and value of the home. The trustee can put you in a position that you have to produce the money or force the sale of the home to get your portion of the proceeds. This is an ASSET that you have, especially since its not your residence.

Note - you said you were an AU on another cc for $12,000.00. If this is included in your bk your "friend" will be liable for the balance. This item you may need to talk to a attorney about......since the cc legally belongs to someone else. If you do file, and include this, you best be telling your "friend" that you have filed.

Keep us posted, let us know what you do,
We will help if we can,

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
