Filing for bankruptcy is extremely STRESSFULL and everyone's nerves are on edge, and their mind is full of WHAT IF'S........

Its hard to be patient with others during bankruptcy, because you don't feel that they really understand your situation. BUT HERE ON THE FORUM- WE DO!

What you consider important, someone else may not! Dance lessons, baseball, football for a child may not seem important to some people but it does to a parent. Often this is the only pleasures that their children enjoy. But often also, a Trustee will consider "dance lessons" not allowed during bankruptcy. He would consider it a luxury...... just as if Dad wote down his 3 golf games a week, or mom her $75.00 haircuts and trips to the spa.

Unfortunately, bankruptcy affects everyone in the the family. You have to tighten the belt, watch the funds closely, and often do without the "extras" until your bankruptcy is completed.

Some folks on the forum may seem to be "cut and dry" in their answers but they are just stating facts about bankruptcy. They don't really mean to sound insensitive, but often come across that way.

And folks who are in the bankruptcy process are over sensitive to their situations until they learn what they have to do to deal with it. Often their hearts are on their sleeves so to speak until they figure it all out.

We are not here to pass judgement on anyone. We are here to support and offer suggestions only. We appreciate all our members, new and older ones. Everyone has "something" to offer the forum. Each bankruptcy is different in some way. We all are still learning from each other.

We as Mods expect our members to be polite, considerate of others feelings, and what we post is supposed to be supportive and helpful to the person that asked the question.

Members that are judgemental, abusive to another member and their situation will be dealt with.

Be nice or POST NOTHING AT ALL........

"BICKERING" back and forth on this forum will not be tolerated.......

          NOW BACK TO BUSINESS...............BANKRUPTCY.............

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

Thank you Minny!! You said exactly what I was hoping someone would say! I have seen a huge increase in name calling on the board and it is frustrating.

Berrymom, hang in there, if you don't want to post I can answer some of your questions in private messages or at least help you find an answer through a previous post. Take care and good luck....from one Mom to another.

I have 2 kids from my former wife and you're damn straight they had jobs at 7and 10..delivering papers, cutting lawns and running errands! Dont tell me there are no more paper routes, either! How the heck do the papers get delivered? A four year old would not know the difference if you didn't send them to dancing school for a few years while you got on your feet, trust me! When I was young, I paid for the things I wanted. My parents did NOT provide entertainment that had to be paid for! We played board games and my mom took us for car rides and to the park. Kids these days are too spoiled. They dont even pay for their own college like all my siblings have on their own...and they need cell phones at 10 years old...??
Everyone has a right to their opinion. If this board doesn't let people voice them, then there goes the first amendment....
I'm NOT following you from post to post either but with each one, it appears to me as if you are trying to manipulate something or someone... (MY OPINION ONLY)

That is something that needs to be eliminated temporarily or maybe you can find another means to make up that money ....how old are they? Can they get a paper route to support their sports and entertainment? I know when I was a kid, I had 3 paper routes, my sister helped me and she babysat, mowed the lawn etc... and we paid for our baseball and ballet. Kids these days don't know what it is to do this as their parents pay for everything even when they are bankrupt...

MajorMike..do you have kids? If not, I don't know why you would bother even answering this question. You suggesting that I make my 4 year old get a job to pay for her dance lessons and my 7 and 10 year old get paper routes to pay for football is unbelievable. For one thing...kid paper routes don't exist anymore. For another thing...it is not my kids' fault we are going through this. I would sell my plasma to pay for these things before I told them that their fun is over till they are old enough to earn an income.

Please stop posting on my posts. I'm not interested in your opinions and I believe your "Mentor" status should be pulled as you are nothing but a jerk and a trouble maker following me from forum to forum to insult me and cause problems. I have emailed the moderator about you.

                  Berrymom,

You're getting some good advice here, so keep coming!

The challenge for you is to ignore the advice of those whose tone and logic you don't like. Ignore them. Pick out the posts from those that seem helpful to you. Focus on those and pose your questions to those people. Ignore the posts that have a tone and a logic you don't like!

Some people's ideas strike me as totally ridiculous. But I don't need to respond to them. I can ignore them and focus on the ideas that seem reasonable. Yes, it's hard. But you can do it!

Don't let a negative response scare you away. By the way, you should probably understand that among bk lawyers and trustees, and various bk courts, there are disagreements every bit as strong as those expressed on this board.

All we can do is proceed along the path that seems most reasonable for us. Take what you need and leave the rest.
