Couple questions on not reaffirming your mortgage

I have some questions about doing a "ride through" on our mortgage (something I didn't even know was possible until coming to these forums)

-Is this something that a lawyer will readily agree to?
    -Do courts even allow this?
-Can we down the road (2-3 yrs) refinance it if we would like to?
-Do you have to pay the property taxes once it is IIB? What happens if you don't?

    Thanks!

~ Depends on the lawyer but they might not actually tell you to do this. Yo might have to read between the lines.
    ~ Depends on your district
~ Sure, but then you would be fully liable for the loan.
~ Absolutely or the state/county/city will put a lien against the title and could foreclose on it for the unpaid taxes.

We were planning on doing a ride-through on our mortgage and our lawyer told us today that he didn't think it would work...must be our district, but they don't seem to recognize the 'ride through' option. Oh, well...we might do it anyway...it's like paying rent, and if they don't like the arrangement, I'm okay with moving, just not right now. So my advice is to be sure to discuss your options thoroughly with your lawyer.
