    Discharged letter?

I received yesterday a letter from the US Bankruptcy Court, it says the debtor is granted a discharge under 727 of title 11, US Code. Am I finally free?

Not yet, you have to receive the Trustee No Asset report. You can be discharged of your debts before the trustee decides if there are non-exempt assets.

      Good Luck

How long does that take to get?

Chances are that the local Ch. 7 Trustee issued his/her declaration of No Asset a day or two after your 341. Check the entire docket and list of filings for your case on PACER. Typically, if you are filing a Ch. 7 No Asset case, then you will be declared No Asset shortly after the 341. Is your case closed yet? IF not, that is the only thing remaining...

          Good luck and congrats,

I am wondering about the no asset report too as I don't have one listed on pacer and I expect to be an asset case but I had no idea the trustee would take this long !! I so want this completely over !! Paralegal is there a time frame for the report??????????

You're done with the part that matters (unless you're worried about assets - personally, I would have happily given away everything in my possession for that discharge)! CONGRATS!!

We are an asset case. They are taking a piece of property we own. Can they keep looking for assets after the discharge? So if you sell a car that was an exempt asset or something and now you have the cash for it?

                  Congrats on the discharge

Mom if the asset was deemed exempt and you have been discharged and closed then you can sell it without problems. Until the case is officially closed you should sell it though.

I have no assets, I'm finally free. It was a nervous road and a road I never ever thought I would have to take. All in all, it was the best choice that I have ever made. Free at last and life will be ++++++++++ in time. Thank you for all your help and input

Congratulations to you and here's to a bright future

And Help I know what you mean I told my DH all along as long as we get that discharge the trustee can take it alllllllllll, whatever she wants. It doesn't even bother me because we were slaves to the bills for so long and the discharge is the freedom we were seeking. I feel like a new person and I'm ready to begin again !
