I'm so excited that I DO get to keep the mixer I love. I guess it's sentimental value, but I love that thing and I hope to eventually get back into baking a little bit at a time because I really do miss it.

This has really been a journey, but a lesson well learned.

What is a stand mixer?

It's a used Hobart 20 quart commercial sized mixer that sits on a stainless steel stand. I think the reason why I love it so much is because I've had it since I started my business and at one point, it was my only commercial piece of equipment until I started to slowly expand. It's very old, but still works great and I just want the option to be able to make a tiny bit of extra money on the side doing something I like because I really do enjoy it.

Were you in the baking business? Cakes?

Yes. I owned a small commercial bakery and absolutely LOVED baking and decorating wedding cakes. I'm self taught and could reproduce just about any cake from a picture. I sometimes charged as much as $400-600 for a single wedding cake (like Martha Stewart, etc.), and some of my old customers still want me to do it from home, but it takes a lot to get back into the swing of things when I've been burned so bad by my ex. Dealing with him and disappointing my customers by closing left a bad taste in my mouth, but at least I still have the means to do it if I choose to.

Yeah! I love cakes! I taught myself how to decorate cakes, too when I worked in a bakery. The funnest job I ever had.
