The day has finally arrived and I am surprisingly calm. I think it will be a big relief to have this over with shortly. Hopefully no hitches! We did get to confer with the new atty (found out our previous one actually left the firm, can you believe it? Nothing like finding that out in the 11th hour) But oh well...new guy seems to know his stuff, sounded familiar enough with our little case, and also sounded like a nice guy. So, scratch that fear off the list. He also explained that motion by the car company as just a formality for them to be able to move forward and sell it (we surrendered it a month ago..) That's it--thanks for all the help thus far!!

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR GOOD WISHES!! They must have worked quite well because we were in and out, bada bing, bada boom...seriously, must have been 3 minutes tops, and 1 min of that was probably the dh and I reading the "I solemnly swear..." card... We got there in plenty of time, found the room, etc...Everyone there looked pretty much like we did, nervous couples wandering around waiting for 3p. We never really actually met the new atty, just sat behind him until our names were called, then whispered "bye" as we headed out.

I was nervous as hell because there were 4 couples ahead of us (all with the same atty) and every single one got a continuance til Aug 27th because for some reason the Trustee had just received their tax returns and pay stubs. In a couple of cases he (Trustee) seemed concerned over the means test and wanted to go over figures. I was so afraid something would be missing, but no problem with us. There was even a "funny" moment as the Trustee called us up..for each of the previous couples he'd call their names, then say their case #. We knew we were the 4th ones up so we were waiting to go, but for some reason, he just said the case #--no names...so there was this awkward pause while the Trustee just sat there..and then he realized he hadn't said a name so he laughed, apologized, said our names..then joked with us about "what? you didn't memorize your case # ?" I think that helped everyone in the room...

Up until that moment things seemed a bit tense in the room! He literally asked us 2 questions (did you read the BK questionnaire and fill it out yourselves? Is all the info still correct on it?) I said all but the address, atty said we're submitting a formal change of addr with the court, the Trustee said ok, that's all I need from you...and I blinked, looked at the atty and whispered "so we go?" He said, yes, go!! So we hightailed it out of there..............................AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHH!!
