Has any one gotten a specific answer as to what REALLY are the trustees looking for when looking at bank statements? Anyone actually have an incidence where they were told "wait, you said you had $300 when you filed but you really had $1000."
I'm just curious, mainly because I looked at the statements I had printed for the ttee and dh apparently got paid 7/31--the day I filed. But the kicker is--he works for a state agency and they aren't supposed to be paid until 8/1. No exceptions; I guess the bank posted it early for some reason, even though for the purpose of payroll taxes, they shouldn't have.
I'm just curious if the trustee will ask about that--if so, I'll say I honestly had no idea and didn't even think to look at the account, which I didn't.
I am honestly curious, though, as to what they're looking for, you know? What a trigger, and who has had purchases questioned?! The squirrelly part is that people can 'manipulate' bank accounts and shift things around or not even have a bank account and do cash only--it's kind of disconcerting that some of the people who *do* have a paper trail may end up being held to a higher standard, kwim?
Just thinking out loud. I'm avoiding studying/writing papers for grad school since the summer session ends this week.
