Can't get all my back statements- now??

I see a new atty today. Wants 2yrs of all bank statements, and the bank want $5 per mo. That will be somethning like $275, which I don't have. What happens if you can't provide them? I have about 6 months I downloaded off the net.

Mar, I had to do the same thing. Initially, the trustee asked for 3 months; then 2 years. For whatever reason I could not find 7 months of bank statements for 2003 and one for 2004. Oddly enough I had them for the previous years...really strange even for me. Anyway, I had to pay the $5 per month.. only cost me $40. I dont think there is an option here unless you want major problems with the trustee. Trust me in our experience we didnt have all the documentation the first time around and we ended up with a delay in the discharge and a face off with the U.S. Trustee. You dont want to do that. I know it is expensive to get them but you really dont have a choice. FYI we told the trustee we would have to order them from our bank thinking she would say okay give me what you have...wrong answer...she told us to send them as soon as we got them. Good luck...

Do you have 3 bank accounts? Because if the trustee wants 2 years worth, and you have 6 months, you only need 18 months, at $5 a month, that's only $90. The only way you would get to $275 would be if you had 3 accounts.

Our bank has checking AND savings balances on one statement, maybe yours does too?

I'm running into the same issue - except my bank charges $8.00 and there's no online download. An issue came up like this on an earlier thread and I loved the response some one gave - isn't it worth spending even $275 to get out of thousands of dollars of debt? I know that you're filing bankruptcy because you don't have any money, but in the end it should be worth it.

As for savings and checking accounts, if they can be linked you should get them on one statement, mine aren't which requires two statements - grrr.

        Best of luck

BKnTX, I have heard from 2 atty's, HHM, my little yellow bk book and several bk websites that they usually don't put you through all this in a 13 since they are getting something from you over a 3 to 5 year period.

Mar, even if you have to work long hours, borrow the 275 or collect and redeem soda and beer cans you should protect your discharge and give them everything they want. The pain of 275 will be gone sooner then the thousands you probably owe.

Actually I have 4 accounts, 3 closed in the last 2 years. I'm not sure the trustee wants these as much as the atty! You all are right- $275 vs thousands!
