    Possible Private Investigator...?

Do lenders ever hire private eye's to track down people?

How much will they spend to recover money's owed?

Is there reason to be elusive -or- should I be an easy target to find?

Is it better to control the whole B 7 process and wait until I am getting harassed?

I have no income in IL, I am a stay at home dad and have no assets. Currently nobody is really bugging me and I stopped paying my bills in February? Is this normal?

Do you have an attorney? And if so, did you give the creditors your attorney info? If you did, then your attorney has been getting the phone calls.

      You've had judgements against you?

Maybe that is why your creditors are currently not bugging you.

        No attorney...

Currently I have no attorney as I am getting all my ducks in a row.

        1. Unemployed since end of March
        2. Stay at home dad (with baby) 2 other daughters from previous marriage
        3. Live with girlfriend
        4. Nobody bothers me
        5. A lot of debts are being charged off on my credit right now

Should I wait until end of October to start filing?

          Insurance policies & Joint accounts...

Also having joint accounts and insurance policies (auto) is probably not a good idea in Illinois?

Well husky, I wouldn't change anythiing now. Because they could hit you with a fraud claim.

As far as a private eye?? WHat would they hire a private eye?

I think from what you are telling us you are fine with filing a chapter 7, but naturally your attorney will be able to tell you that.

              Haven't filed yet...

I am currently under no pressure to pay - no job/no garnishments or harassing calls as they don't have my number etc.

It would probably be best if my girlfriend and I broke up etc. while I navigate this? How long do they look back at bank accounts etc? 3 or 6 months?

                Break up?

Why on earth would you need to do that?

I filed solo without my wife and no one has bothered her. Her name isn't on any of the debts that I filed on, so she has no obligation to pay. Since we were married I had to include her income and the Child Support for her daughter into the income calculations, but I also got to claim their expenses so in the end, it was a wash.

Ok........... before you go doing anything drastic we need to get a few details out of the way.

How long have you been unemployed?

You said you have 2 Children total?

Do you have any income whatsoever? Child Support? Alimony? Anything?
                How exactly do you eat?

Perusing that other thread you said you have "Investment properties"?

About how much do you owe?

Keep in mind that unless you owe money to Vinnie the Leg Breaker the local loan shark, collectors aren't exactly gonna kick your door in and hold you at gunpoint to get their money.

Why break up??? Just take your name off the joint bank account, and go with a completely different bank..

How long have you been unemployed?

Since April - I had a 10,000 severence check. Now I am on unemployment at $2,000 a month ever since.

You said you have 2 Children total? - Yes one with my girlfriend and two with my ex (I can claim one as a deduction)

Do you have any income whatsoever? Child Support? Alimony? Anything?
                    How exactly do you eat?

My girlfrind is supporting us right now - I am a stay at home dad.

Perusing that other thread you said you have "Investment properties"?

About how much do you owe?

Well - around $500,000 in forthcoming deficiencies (from being an ex-landlord)
                    $45,000 in CCard debt
                    $5,000 in misc debt
$15,000 in a truck repo deficiency - they just charged off - so a collection agency will probably by it

So - I have no income - no assets other than a 96 dodge ram pickup. (My divorce in Dec 2006 left me with nothing but debt.)

I don't need credit anymore nor do I want it ever again. But I refuse to give the crook that is buying back his properties tomorrow at sherriff's auction a penny!

                        Break Up...

I don't really mean break-up formally I guess it comes after getting scared about reading how Trustees want to do an audit of your residence etc.

I would hate to involve her in the whole ordeal.

We would be married if it wasn't for my huge financial mess that is following me.

Go ahead and file. You are making it much more complicated than it really is. You are going to get yourself in trouble trying to hide things. THe trustees have access to so much info and hiding money etc is setting yourself up to end up dismissed or worse.

You haven't been paying your bills since Feb., but have income? Why haven't you filed yet? I don't understand what it is you are waiting for?

What happened to the $10K severence check you received in April? Was it spent and if so, on what? Are you waiting to file because of that?
