I'm getting ready to file (yuck) around Sept. 1. I hope this is in time before new laws kick in. Anyway, I am supposed to go on a trip to visit in-laws Sept 16 (this was planned before bk). I do have one credit card with a zero balance. Can I use that card just to rent the car and give the hotel? I would not actually charge the expense; I would just let them hold it so they give me the car and room (since, it seems, they won't do without a major credit card). Will this show up in court? I know some companies do "card blocking."
