    Will I lose my camper?

About to file chapter 7. Keeping house but letting our van go. We have a camper that we have been making payments of 150.00 per month. The book valu is $8000, and the loan amount is $11,000. We would like to keep it if at all possible. Making that small of a payment per month will not break us.

Well, if you owe more than its worth, the Trustee would not be interested in it, and if you are current on the payments, the creditor will want you to continue to make those payments. So you should be ok.

We had a motorhome. Owed $60K, worth $43K. In our Ch 7 BK, even though we were current, the bank wanted the motorhome back. We were glad to give it back. Next time we are buying used instead of new...

That really suprises me that they would want it back. Especially since you were a.) current on payments and b.)upside down. I also want to buy a RV. But, I want one to full time live in. I want to way downscale my lifestyle. I want to live in it, bank cash and save for retirement. I have been looking at used ones on Ebay. They really do depreciate fast.
