I have a truck that is a lease. The lease is up next year. Now, i am filing a chapter 7 soon and if i want to keep the truck, would i have to reaffirm? And if so can I just reaafirm a lease for the remainder of the lease, which is about 12 months left? Or can I purchase it? Now my residual value is more then what the truck is worth. If I reaffirm it will they lower the residual value? Or just can they make my lease longer? I would like my payments to be alot lower. I have already asked a question previously about the vehicle and most of you said get rid of it, But I cannot afford to buy another vehicle and do not think that I will be approved. Any suggestions on my questions. Thanks so much for all your answers.

I agree with 'Hub. It won't hurt to play hardball...you can always walk away (I know you can't afford this financially, BUT they don't know that!). As 'Hub stated, they want their $$$, not the car!
