We had our 341 this morning. It went great!
The trustee was super nice. It was a relief to hear him chat with our attorney. They were very friendly.
We had to bring our 6 month old girl. Our babysitter got sick and canceled at the last minute. We were so nervous we were going to get into trouble for bringing her.
There were about 40 people in the room. We were the 11th couple called up. The trustee swore us in. He asked a few questions about our letter of intent and tax returns, our attorney answered that for us. Our little girl kept smiling at him. He jokingly asked if we made room in our budget for her...because girls can be expensive. Our little baby laughed and he was gushing over her. Whew! So at least we knew he wasn't upset we brought her. He asked if our income had changed since filing and whether or not our rental properties were rented out. And that was it!!!!!! He said this is a clear non-asset case, he asked our attorney if he agreed, he did, then the trustee said, dismissed.
OMG! I can't believe this meeting is finally over. I been dreading this day for so long.
There was one lady who went before us. I felt so bad for her. Her attorney used the wrong exemptions. She'd only been living in the state for a year, and the rule was she had to be living there 2 years to use those exemptions. The trustee was annoyed and said let this be a warning to all of you to choose an attorney who has bankruptcy experience. I would have killed my attorney. She has to re-file.
So I'm officially a member of the 60-day club!
