Chapter 7 & LLC

New to the forum - Quick question if anyone can help.

I have just been served with papers notifying me that I am being sued by a creditor. I have some other outstanding personal debts in which I am delinquent on also and am considering filing bankruptcy. My question is, I also own a company that is an LLC - just a small business with total assets of less than $5,000. Income from this company last year was less than $2,000 (more of a hobby, not main source of income). I am in Texas, is the LLC excluded from Chapter 7?

Your ownership of the LLC is an asset. Depends on it's value in relation to your states exemptions if you can exempt it.
