    Long Island Trustee Question

    Hi Everyone:

Finally filed Ch7 8/29, 341 is 9/26 on Long Island. Stomach hasn't stopped churning yet.

Not sure if I am allowed to ask in public, but I have a question regarding the trustee I have been assigned.

    Someone please let me know.

Thanks, this board has been great and soooooooooo helpful

I believe it depends upon the question asked about him. Don't mention names though.
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Let me give my 2 cents on the issue...my thought is that it really does not matter who your trustee is....

          1. First, no point in fretting about something that is out of your control; short of there being a conflict of interest (i.e. the trustee is a cousin, or your landlord), there is nothing you can do about which trustee you are assigned.

          2. Your bankruptcy is what it is. If you did a good job, your case will be fine. If you did a bad job, your case will have problems regadless of which trustee you get.

For the most part, how your case turns out has very little to do with trustee. The one HUGE benefit of BK is its predictability and the control it gives the debtor.
